Do 'automatic' whole house humidifiers really provide up to 50% more humidity, as advertised?
Our new new Geothermal system includes a Trane Automatic Fan Powered humidifier (THUMD500APA00A) that's advertised to provide up to 50% more humidity than its manual counterpart, but our installer set the humidifier to run in the 'manual mode' and insists we'd get no more humidity if it were set in the 'automatic mode;' that the max would still be 45%. Meanwhile, we'd like more humidity than the humidifier provides us in the manual mode.
So, what's true? Could we get more humidity if we had the 'automatic' humidifier setup, and how exactly does that work? Thanks!
